Take Advantage of The Athenian Project

The SSP Data and Cloudflare team are on a mission to help protect the most vulnerable voices and most critical institutions on the Internet. Among the many things state and local officials are responsible for in the election space are election websites. Just like every other Internet property, election websites need to be fast, reliable, and secure. Yet, limited budgets too often prevent organizations from getting the right resources to prevent attacks and stay online.

To support our public sector clients who enable critical infrastructure and elections, there is the Athenian Project. The Athenian Project is free and open to all U.S. state, county, or municipal government sites related to:

  • The administration of elections — including the provision of information related to voting and polling places.

  • Voter data, including voter registration or verification.

  • The reporting of election results.

Through the Athenian Project, state and local governments are ensured to have the highest level of protection for their websites. This allows the constituents to securely access critical election information and voter registrations.
